Monspace 2018 Business Overview: Marching Ahead Against All Odds

In 2014, Monspace first stepped into the business world with an e-commerce platform. Under the leadership of founder and CEO Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai, the company made its name in the e-commerce world, and continue to set its sights high. Within 4 years, Monspace has penetrated various fields, entering many Asian markets and even reached Algeria.

Throughout its four years of existence, the young multinational corporation never ceased to challenge itself and seek improvements. Its promise is to provide the best services and products to users. To help everyone understand our business operations in 2018 on a deeper level, here is a summary of our work and business strategy this year.

In the beauty field, one-stop beauty service centre Monspace Stylist Channel (MSC) hosted a number of activities to care for women in 2018. This includes a collaboration with Kelab Wanita Monspace Kuala Lumpur (KWMKL) to host women’s exercise and image consulting classes while promoting blood donation.

MSC also hosted The Miss International Monspace Cosmos Pageant 2018. It also held a grand launch event for its line of anti-aging skin care products, “Xue Zhiying”, with Mi Xue as the spokesperson.

SOFO was founded in 1997, headquartered in Guangdong Province, China. The company specialises in the development, production, sales, and services of high-tech health products.

In 2018, SOFO enters full force into public smart seating upgrade services. It is committed to the big sharing + big health + big data IoT system. In order to implement this, SOFO produced a total of more than 36,000 health chairs in 2018 as an effort to provide comfortable waiting areas for consumers. It has since collaborated with key public spaces to bring SOFO’s health seating to the masses. These locations include hospitals, government offices, driving schools, Shandong Provincial Hospital, Guangdong Passenger Station, Changsha Huanghua International Airport, and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

In 2018, SOFO worked with the Chinese government for an upgrade and renovation of public service spaces, improving both the facility and image of government offices. Government units working with SOFO include Air Union (Beijing) Ltd. and the Baishan Jiangyuan People’s Government.

The highlight of Monspace in 2018 is the founding of CP Mall.

In order to better engage customer needs and improve their online shopping experience, Monspace will continue to expand its product catalog so visitors can shop with confidence. In 2018, Monspace upgraded its e-mall and created a new online shopping platform, CP Mall.

CP Mall’s vision and goal is to become a leading international online shopping and retailing platform; one that encompasses international big brands, local brands, internet best selling brands, and authorised resellers.
CP Mall has been recognized by industry authorities for its excellent quality of goods and services. On 23 October 2018, the China Electronic Commerce Association awarded CP Mall with the “China E-Commerce Integrity Demonstration Unit” honorary certificate.

On 20 December 2018, CP Mall was invited by the 2018 World Conference for Electronic Commerce (WCEC 2018) as its exclusive digital technical support unit, due to its outstanding big data processing capabilities.

CP Mall also won the “2018 Innovative E-Commerce Business Award” at the conference, as a form of recognition by the organisers, including the China E-Commerce Association.

In 2018, Monspace hosted two international conferences: the World Conference on Exercise Medicine (WCEM) and the ASEAN Blockchain Davos Forum.

Founded in 2016, the MS NEW SYMPHONY Sports Medicine Clinic aims to help alleviate four deadly diseases: high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol; by providing professional medical diagnosis and fitness advice.

To better assist the World Health Organisation (WHO) in combatting non-communicable diseases, the MS New Symphony team has been hosting the WCEM since 2017.

In 2017, the MS Sports Medicine Team successfully hosted the first World Conference on Exercise Medicine (WCEM). In 2018, MS NEW SYMPHONY once again hosted the second WCEM.

The 2nd WCEM was held at the Hotel Equatorial in Malacca, Malaysia from October 24th to 26th, 2018. The organiser, MS NEW SYMPHONY Sports Medicine Clinic, invited more than 700 medical authorities from more than 33 countries around the world to participate in this seminar and discuss over 60 health topics.

Currently, the MS New Symphony team is in discussions with the University of Physical Education in Budapest, Hungary on the possibilities of co-hosting WCEM in 2020.

In 2018, MSD sponsored the largest and most authoritative blockchain conference in ASEAN: the ASEAN Blockchain Davos Forum. This large-scale industry event was jointly sponsored by the ASEAN Economic Research Institute and the ChainAngel Group and Battlechain. It also received professional supervision from the China Electronic Commerce Association, the China Electronic Commerce Association Internet Finance Research Institute, and the China Electronic Commerce Association Financial Technology Research Institute.

The ASEAN Blockchain Davos Forum invited global blockchain leaders, investment agency experts, scholars, more than 200 blockchain media outlets and 3,000 people to attend this forum. More than 20 topics were discussed through presentations, workshops, and round-table discussions. Experts shared their views on the physical operation of blockchain, future prospects, and strengths.

In terms of overseas businesses, Monspace Indonesia has shown great performance in 2018.

Monspace Indonesia showcased two highlights in 2018. In September, it founded MSP LIFE (offline) and MSPMall (online). MSP LIFE is the first shopping guide mobile app available in the Indonesian market. It is also the main highlight of Monspace Indonesia’s operation in 2018.

MSP Life is a convenient shopping guide, with information about restaurants, beauty centre, health and wellness centres, furniture shops, hotels, and electronics etc. So users can easily search for product information within the app.

Users are also able to search for the location of merchants. The app will provide maps, merchant information and product information.

The best about MSP LIFE is its points reward system. Users can use MSP LIFE to check for merchants who accept MSP for transactions and receive promotions and rewards.

As of 2018, MSP LIFE has acquired 500 partner merchants and expects to see up to 5000 or more in 2019.

On 1 November 2018, Monspace Indonesia launches the MSPL membership. It expects to reach its goal of 100,000 members in 2019.

In the F&B sector, establishments under Monspace include the Monspace Seafood Culinary, Mon Spize Cafe, La Mons Beauty Cafe, Fat Mama Steamboat, Monspace Cafe, Njoy Planet Cafe, and Asialiano Restoran Little Italy.

In 2018, Hong Kong celebrity chef Liang Wen Tao and Malaysian actress Crystal Lee visited Fat Mama Steamboat and Monspace Seafood Culinary to experience their cuisines.

Hong Kong actor Frankie Lam was also invited by Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai to visit Monspace Seafood Culinary and Njoy Planet Cafe in Malaysia. He shared great reviews about the food in these restaurants.

Singaporean actor Terence Cao also feasted at Fat Mama Steamboat, Njoy Planet Cafe, Mons Spize Cafe and Monspace Seafood Culinary.

In the tourism industry, Monspace opened a luxurious holiday villa on Langkawi island—Goldsands Hotel.

In 2018, Goldsands Hotel Langkawi sponsored the Malaysia concerts of Penny Tai and Jacky Cheung’s world tour.

In November 2018, Monspace had a 3D2N company retreat at the hotel as a token of appreciation for all its staff.

Monxiang is a natural health and wellness business that Monspace started investing in, in the year 2017. The brand specialises in natural health and beauty products made of agar-wood, promoting the natural way of preserving health.

MONXIANG is incredibly particular about the quality and safety of its products. It has thus far been awarded with Malaysia’s Food Safety Management System ISO 9001, ISO 2000, and halal certification. In 2018, MONXIANG further improved the quality of its products and manufacturing line to pass assessments such as the ISO 22000: 2005, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). It has passed all tests and is now certified with ISO 22000: 2005, HACCP, and GMP by Singapore.

In 2019, Monspace will continue to dig deep, explore, and seek innovation in the fields we are in. We will also be looking out for new technological trends such as AI and blockchain to help us create a brighter, better way forward.
